LeadGenius Raises $6M Series A Round Led by Sierra Ventures

Funding will Scale Sales Acceleration Solutions while Creating Thousands of Fair Wage Jobs  Worldwide

We are thrilled to report that Better Ventures portfolio company LeadGenius (formerly MobileWorks) has closed a $6M Series A round of financing led by Sierra Ventures.  Other participating investors include Kapor Capital, Bee Partners, Sam Altman, 500 Startups, and others.  Tim Guleri from Sierra Ventures will be joining the board of the Berkeley, CA-based company.  The fresh capital will be used to expand the LeadGenius team and further develop the company's human powered sales-acceleration and lead-generation solutions.  The financing will also further the company's mission to alleviate poverty by creating access to meaningful digital work at fair wages for thousands of women, youth, and unemployed populations worldwide.

We have been extremely impressed by the progress made by Anand Kulkarni, Prayag Narula, and the rest of the LeadGenius team since we were one of the company's first investors back in August 2011.  We saw big promise and passion in the team at that time as they embarked on a mission to leverage collective human intelligence to do high-quality work while leveraging mobile and web technology to bring fair-wage employment to those lacking it.  They've accomplished a great deal since then, generating exponential revenue growth in the last three years while building a global workforce of over 25,000 fairly-paid and highly-skilled workers.  We're also happy customers of LeadGenius, and we highly recommend giving them a try!  If you would like more information on LeadGenius, please feel free to reach out.

In other exciting news, we completed a successful first close for Better Ventures Fund II on October 2nd.  We've already made our first investment, have a signed term sheet for our second (more on those soon), and we're actively seeking new investment opportunities.  If you come across exceptional early-stage teams building innovative technology-enabled solutions to big and important problems in the world, please send them our way!  We would also welcome the opportunity to discuss our fund with you.  If you would like timely updates on Better Ventures, be sure to follow us on Twitter andAngelList.  Thank you!
