Better Ventures PreSeed
Better Ventures PreSeed convenes thought leaders, networking, and resources to advance a thriving impact startup ecosystem in Oakland and the greater East Bay. Through our program, we provide early-stage founders with resources, community, and support to help them launch and grow successful businesses that also benefit the community. PreSeed is also a way for us to meet founders early in your company building stages and identify promising candidates for pre-seed investment. The program consists of the following:
- Fireside Chats: We host periodic conversations with leaders in impact investing and entrepreneurship. These are live events held at ImpactHub Oakland featuring intimate discussions of each leader's career and accomplishments, followed by fast pitches and networking. Our fireside chats are open to the public and are a great way to learn and connect with other founders. To attend, register below in the Upcoming Events section.
- Founder Roundtables: We host monthly roundtable discussions during which founders learn best practices at the startup phase, collaborate with other early-stage peers, and practice your pitch. This is also a great way for us to get to know you (and vice versa) and to consider you for investment. Our Founder Rountables are free and open to all startups building technology products that address a pressing social or environmental problem. Please register in the Upcoming Events section below.
- $100k PreSeed Funding: We are also supporting the East Bay impact startup ecosystem through our commitment to invest in Oakland and Berkeley startups. We make $100k pre-seed investments on a rolling quarterly basis, typically in startups we have meet through our PreSeed program. See our Approach to read more about what we look for at the pre-seed stage and to learn about the resources we provide to our portfolio companies. Apply here to be considered for funding.
